Privacy Policy

1. Overview

showUp ("we," "our," or "the App") is a privacy-first, client-side workout tracking and exercise telemetry application. We believe your health and fitness data belongs strictly to you. We do not collect, process, track, or store any of your personal data on external servers.

2. Information Collection & Storage

Local Device Storage: All exercise logs, workout histories, set telemetry, perceived exertion (RPE) scores, and custom exercise libraries are stored locally on your device using your web browser's standard localStorage and IndexedDB APIs.

Heart Rate Telemetry: showUp uses the Web Bluetooth API to connect directly to standard Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Heart Rate Monitors (GATT 0x180D). Biometric telemetry is processed in real time purely on your local device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

3. Google Drive Sync & Data Protection

Limited Access (drive.file Scope): If you choose to enable cloud sync, showUp requests access only to the specific file it creates (showUp_workout_data.json). The App cannot read, view, edit, or access any other files or documents inside your Google Drive.

Direct Client-to-Cloud Sync: All sync operations occur directly between your browser and Google’s official APIs over HTTPS. Your authentication tokens and workout logs never pass through or store on intermediate servers.

Google API Policy Compliance: showUp's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data to train AI models or sell data to advertisers.

4. Data Retention & Export

Full Export Control: You can export a full copy of your workout history at any time as a .json backup file via the App's interface.

Data Deletion: Clearing your browser cache or site data permanently deletes your local data. You can also manually delete the showUp_workout_data.json file inside your personal Google Drive at any time.

5. Hosting & Security

showUp is hosted statically on GitHub Pages. When you access the App, GitHub may collect standard operational server logs (such as IP addresses) strictly for security and performance. For more information, please review the GitHub Privacy Statement.
