1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using showUp ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"), available at https://elegant13.github.io/showUp-app/ or through authorized deployments, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Health & Fitness Disclaimer

Not Medical Advice: showUp is an educational and personal workout tracking tool designed to record exercise logs, heart rate telemetry, and physiological load estimates. The App does not provide medical, clinical, or professional healthcare advice.

Assumption of Risk: Exercise, weight training, and physical activity carry inherent risks of injury or health complications. You voluntarily assume all risk associated with any exercises, movements, or routines logged or tracked within the App.

Consultation with Professionals: Always consult a qualified physician or healthcare professional before starting any new exercise program, particularly if you have pre-existing health conditions or cardiovascular issues.

Telemetry Limitations: Heart rate monitor readings, training effect scores (aerobic/anaerobic load), and muscle group statistics provided by the App are mathematical estimations intended for general fitness tracking only and should not be relied upon for medical diagnostics.

3. User Data & Ownership

Local-First Storage: All exercise logs, workout histories, set telemetry, and custom exercise definitions are stored locally on your device via browser APIs (localStorage and IndexedDB).

Data Ownership: You retain 100% ownership of all workout data you enter into showUp. We do not claim any intellectual property or operational ownership over your personal fitness records.

Data Responsibility: Because data is stored on your local device, you are solely responsible for maintaining backups using the built-in JSON Export/Backup feature or the optional Google Drive Sync. We are not responsible for lost data resulting from cleared browser caches or factory resets.

4. Optional Google Drive Integration

User Authorization: If you choose to connect your Google account, showUp uses Google Identity Services to sync a single file (showUp_workout_data.json) directly to your personal Google Drive account.

No External Server Storage: All sync operations occur directly between your client browser and Google’s official APIs over HTTPS. No data or authentication tokens are routed through or stored on external intermediate servers operated by us.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

SHOWUP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE CREATORS OR MAINTAINERS OF SHOWUP BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES—INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY OR LOSS OF DATA—ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE APP.
